Connected Strength

Peloton Interactive

Project Overview

Objective

Develop Peloton’s first fully connected strength offering that revolutionizes the way members experience strength training in their homes.

Personal Contribution

Our strength team initially consisted of 4 industrial designers - each owning a piece of a multifaceted product experience. Joining the team during Discovery Phase, I assisted in building out and testing the initial system architectures.

As we entered Concept Phase, I was tasked with leading ID development of a core subsystem centered around handheld interaction. I utilized my experience in rapid form development through rough sketching, iterative CAD, and 3D printing to explore and test foundational form and interaction architectures. I worked closely with engineering, product, and external DFM partners to define key interactions, set ergonomic hard points, and evolve form language, ensuring ID vision aligned with greater program objectives.

As a first-generation large-scale product, our program ran into numerous set backs, scope changes, and DFM issues. Through ambiguity and uncertainty, I helped to bring our ID vision from conception to a mature product that will be Peloton’s most advanced and revolutionary fitness offering.
