Personal Contribution
Initially I explored form architectures for the handle & heads of each device, focusing on interaction, ergonomics, and form language. We eventually partnered with an outside agency, ram industrial design inc, who contributed a bulk of the Concept Phase design work.
After ram delivered ID assets, my role transitioned into refining elements of the design as our development team worked through the DFM process. I also drove design development of the charge base and assisted the clinical team in conducting usability research.
Usability testing was centered around one novel feature - mounting and using a phone on the handles. Doing so allowed clinicians to capture images of the inner ear & eye during an exam.
